Take action today for Fair Taxes!
We’ve all heard tales of corporate tax dodging. Here in the UK, Amazon and Google have hit the headlines, and tax dodging costs us at least £35 billion every year.
That’s why we’ve teamed up with over 15 other organisations to launch a campaign calling for a new law, a Tax Dodging Bill, to help make tax fair.
We’ve got 100 days until the general election, so make sure your voice is heard.
Fair Taxes are essential if we are to Close the Gap between rich and poor. Every pound avoided in tax is a pound less to spend on childcare, social care, health or education. At a time when spending cuts are having a real and damaging impact on the lives of some of the poorest and most vulnerable people in the country, it is morally indefensible for some of Britain’s richest companies to avoid paying their fair share of UK taxes.
The Tax Dodging Bill we’re campaigning for will tackle the worst bits of the UK tax rules that make it easy for big companies to dodge their taxes, here and abroad. It could generate £3.6 billion for the UK and could also help raise billions in developing countries.
And over the next few months we’ve got a real chance to get it to the top of politician’s inboxes. This year there’s a General Election, which means politicians will be listening to your concerns, and setting their priorities for the next five years.
We’re calling on all political parties to pledge to introduce the Bill in the first 100 days after the election, and use the funds generated to fight poverty, here and in developing countries.
Now’s our chance – if we act together, we can achieve Fair Taxes.
