Do you want to see a fairer world and an end to poverty? Would you like to help guide our national movement for change?
We are looking to recruit some new members for our Council of Management – why not apply?
The Council is Church Action on Poverty’s board of trustees. Its members are responsible for running the organisation, setting its strategic direction and planning the work which is delivered day-to-day by the staff team.
Council members must be in sympathy with our values and have some understanding of the issues we work on. We actively seek to appoint council members who have personal experience of poverty, and we try to ensure that the membership reflects the geographical spread of our work and the diversity of our supporters.
Council members are elected for a period of three years which is renewable. Council meetings are usually held on the third Saturday in the months of January, April, July and October. One of these meetings is usually residential in order to allow time for in-depth discussion of future programmes. Any reasonable expenses incurred in the course of Council of Management business are reimbursed.
