Dundee speaks out against the payday loan rip-off!

Church of Scotland logoWe want to send a big thankyou to the Church of Scotland’s Presbytery of Dundee, who have lent their active support to the Charter to Stop the Payday Loan Rip-Off.

The Presbytery’s Church and Society Committee met on 13 November. They agreed that they would encourage all the churches in the Presbytery to take part in our e-action and petition promoting the Charter to Stop the Payday Loan Rip-off.

They will also be encouraging their congregations to read Truth and Lies About Poverty, and supporting a local charity called Faith in Throughcare.

It is great to have such active support from a church’s leaders on this important issue. Let’s hope other denominations will start spreading the word in the same way!

If you are part of a synod or committee in your denomination, and you could ask them to support our campaigns, we’d love to hear from you – get in touch!
